Pain Field

A Pain Field is an area within (and extending slightly outside of) a Respawn room and Generator which causes direct health damage to all enemy units within its range. Pain Fields are typically located within all Respawn rooms (including Tower and Cavern spawn rooms). Aegis Shield Generators can also have pain fields if infected by an enemy Virus.

The Pain Field at a surface facility can be enhanced in two ways. The first is by the addition of a Pain Module benefit to the facility. The second is by upgrades made by Expert Hackers using their REK to hack a facility's Matrix Panel and/or Generator Terminal. The Sensor Shield Implant will shield the user from damage from an un-upgraded surface spawn room only. The damage of the pain field is dependent on several factors, summarized in the following table:
